Our guest minister for Sunday, December 26th is the Rev. Dr. Layne Wallace. Dr. Wallace grew up in Rockingham, NC and earned his BA in Philosophy from Western Carolina University. After accepting God's call into ministry, he went on to earn his Master of Divinity from Campbell University, and his Doctorate of Ministry from Baylor University. In May 2019, he graduated with his Ph.D. in Theology from B.H. Carroll Theological Institute. His doctoral thesis, Karl Barth's Concept of Nothingness: A Critical Evaluation was published this year and is on the recommended reading list at the Center for Barth Studies at Princeton University's Theological Seminary.
Dr. Wallace has served congregations in Rockingham, Lexington, and Raleigh, NC and is currently the Senior Pastor at Rosemary Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids, NC. He is devoted to the spiritual formation of all church members, and developing the spiritual direction of each church he serves.
In his spare time, Dr. Wallace enjoys running and biking, as well as an excellent dessert. He and his wife, Molly, live in Roanoke Rapids and have two daughters, Ainsley and Abigail (Abbie).
